La Mer’s Playtime Island invites little visitors to experience world of adventures this fall

  • Boat simulation experience, human ring toss, beach ball racing and Island bouncy castle to entertain kids from 24 October to 9 November, 2019
  • Art workshops to include ocean slime making, shell decoration and playdough fun
  • Catch Kris Fade and Priti Malik from Virgin Radio on 25 October between 5pm and 7pm as they host popular roadshow
  • Hawaiian dancers to perform across the destination every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 24 October to 9 November

This fall, La Mer, the world-class beachfront destination by Meraas, will host a series of activations for visitors big and small that feature everything from kids’ activities to an outdoor retail market and roaming entertainment.

So, gather the whole family and head down to the laid-back destination between 24 October and 9 November to enjoy fun-filled activities in the pleasant weather that will have the kids – and yourself – reeling with excitement.

If you spend AED100 at La Mer during this period, you can drop your children off at Playtime Island from 4pm to 10pm on weekdays and from 11am to 11pm on weekends. A boat simulation experience will take them on a sea adventure, followed by beach ball racing and human ring toss that put their balancing skills and sense of aim to the test, and provide some healthy competition.

Over the three weekends, the little adventurers will also enjoy a large sized island bouncy castle that is sure to have them jumping for joy. They can also try their hand at making ocean slime, playdough art or seashell decorations at mini workshops.

On Friday, 25 October, catch the popular RJ duo Kris Fade and Priti Malik from 6pm to 8pm, as they host their roadshow at La Mer Central, giving you a chance to participate in fun challenges and win prizes up to AED 10,000.

Vibrant Hawaiian dance performances will set the weekend mood on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm. On Halloween weekend (31 October to 2 November), you can look forward to a special act featuring zombie Hawaiian dancers.

Don’t forget to stop by the open-air market at Laguna to check out a selection of La Mer’s favourite brands, such as Hamac, Glassing, Bayt Al Saboun Al Loubnani, Optifashion and Vicens.

Cap off the day at one of the newly opened restaurants for a fresh dining experience by the Arabian Sea. You can head over to Lezzet Steak & Grill for an alfresco Turkish dinner or visit the quaint Greek restaurant El Greco for an authentic Mediterranean meal. Cool off at Möge Tee over one of its famous bubble teas or lounge at Phantom Beach and enjoy relaxed seaside vibes.

And if you’re looking to get rid of that holiday weight or just make exercise part of your daily routine, hit the newly launched Train Beach Club for your fitness fix.
