Fashion fever takes hold at City Walk for new season
Head into Dubai’s most wonderful time of year with a new wardrobe at City Walk’s fashion and fragrance three-week extravaganza
Forget winter and Jon Snow, autumn is coming. It is, quite simply, the best time of year to be in Dubai. Cooler temperatures, alfresco dining and of course those awesome autumn-winter fashion lines! And we’ve got it all and more at City Walk, the design-inspired open-air lifestyle destination by Meraas. As the new season kicks-off, from 9 to 25 October, we’ve got five great reasons to head down to City Walk, discover the latest trends from the world of Arab fashion, overhaul your wardrobe with a fresh look or knock some “common scents” into your fragrance collection.
#1 Arab Fashion Week hosted @ City Walk
The Arab Fashion Council welcomes the 9th edition of the Arab Fashion Week in collaboration with City Walk. Expecting over 40 prominent regional and international designers from the Middle East, Europe and Asia, the event will celebrate a wide calendar of fashion shows, pop-ups, presentations and trunk shows. The event will be held between 9th to 14th October and will take place at 1422; the world’s first Ready Couture store and the region’s first ever designer acceleration hub.
On October 11, Vogue Italia will celebrate Vogue Talents Day, where four talented designers selected by the Head of Vogue Talents, Sara Sozzani Maino will have the unique opportunity to showcase their collection and be the star attractions of the day. The event will also see up and coming designers participate in an exclusive portfolio review by Sara Sozzani Maino, Deputy Editor in Chief at Vogue Italia and Head of Vogue Talents, where the best designers will be awarded a special feature in Vogue Italia.
#2 Streets of fashion
Following the event, City Walk’s leading designer brands, including Pôlette, Diva Abaya Couture, Sandro, Maje, Ted Baker Ba&Sh, Karl Lagerfeld, American Vintage, Weekend Max Mara, Dani by Daniel K, Majestic Angels and 1337 will display their fall/winter ’19 collections across the destination during an exclusive fashion show, set to run on 17 and 18 of October.
#3 Fashion workshops for kids
Art of Fashion mini-workshops set-up in front of Godiva which will offer aspiring fashionistas the opportunity to try their hand at creating their very own customised T-shirts, fashion themed arts and crafts, and at designing clothes from a variety of fabrics and recycled materials. The kid’s workshops will take place every day from 17 to 25 October.
#4 Exquisite fragrances filling the air
Visitors will have the chance to explore an open-air fragrance exhibition and sample the unique high-end perfumes available at City Walk. Participating shops will include Jovoy, Plethora, Loewe, Bramble, Emperor of London, Bvlgrari Roma, M Micallef, Kerastase, The Art of Shaving and Lush. The outdoor fragrance fair will take place Thursdays and Fridays from 17 to 25 October.
#5 Roaming entertainment
Roaming entertainment acts, will delight kids and grown-ups alike Thursdays and Fridays from 17 to 25 October between 7pm and 10pm.
